A physical, mental, cognitive, or developmental condition that impairs/interferes with or limits a person's ability to engage in specific tasks or actions or participate in typical daily activities and interactions.

What documentation is required to confirm my disability status for admission at ALCHE?

You will need to provide medical or psychological evaluation reports from certified professionals, including details of your diagnosis, functional limitations, and recommendations for accommodations.

How recent should my disability documentation be?

Generally, documentation should be within the last three years to accurately reflect your current functional status and needs. However, this may vary based on the nature of the disability.

How do I request accommodations for my disability during the admissions process?

You should contact our disability support services offered through the Diversity officer to discuss your needs. They will guide you through submitting documentation and requesting specific accommodations. The Diversity officer can be emailed on [email protected].

What types of accommodations can I request for the admissions process?

Accommodations may include extended application time, alternative test formats, assistance completing applications, and access to accessible facilities and services.

How does ALCHE protect my privacy regarding my disability?

Our institution adheres to strict confidentiality policies to protect your personal information. Disability-related documentation and information are only shared with relevant staff providing your accommodations.

Will my disability status affect my chances of being admitted?

No, your disability status will not negatively impact your admission. We are committed to providing equal opportunities and do not discriminate based on disability.

Can ALCHE provide reasonable accommodations for all disabilities?

ALCHE does not currently have the capacity to provide reasonable accommodations for all disabilities. However, we are working to grow our capacity and will give you all the information on timelines when you communicate your disability to us.

Can I discuss my disability and need for accommodations during the admission stage?

Yes, you can discuss your disability and accommodations if you feel comfortable. However, it is not required, as this information will be handled separately by the disability support services team.
